We'd all want to have flawless-looking skin, and in a perfect world, we all would, but it isn't. It is frustrating to apply makeup only to realize that dark spots are still visible. There are skin care solutions but sometimes they are not enough or simply don’t work as fast as other quicker solutions, hereby - Makeup.

Makeup can make dark spots disappear faster than you’d think. With the right Foundation or Concealer you can hide dark spots with not much work at all.

Here we'll share our techniques for dealing with dark spots and teach you a step-by-step routine for covering any dark inconsistencies.

Prep, Conceal & Seal

Prep the skin

Makeup settles into scars and ridges, that can create an uneven look. Help create an even canvas for the rest of your makeup application. Begin with a skin that is clean and moisturized, then apply a primer. Smooth it over your entire face or apply it directly on the dark spots. Primer also helps to ensure your makeup is even throughout the day, that's another reason to use it.

Conceal the spots

Concealer or Foundation first?

When it comes to concealing under-eye circles, it's preferable to apply concealer after foundation. However, when it comes to concealing dark spots and acne scars, we suggest to use Concealer first.

Start by using a fine brush to apply the concealer that matches your skin color (use Makeup Match to find the perfect color match). Apply a bit of concealer onto the back of your hand and lightly pick up product with your brush. Gently dab onto the dark spots, layering the concealer.

Note that you should use a concealer that matches your skin tone. Usually concealers for under-eyes is a shade lighter than your skin, don't use it as you'll go from having a dark spot to a light spot.

No dark spots anymore! But that's not the end of the process.

Seal the deal

It's crucial that you finish everything off with a powder that will lock all the products you've used into place. This is the best way to ensure that your look lasts all day.
